Data Science/ Machine Learning Co-op (8 Month) TORONTO: RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT - FULL TIME Job Description

Oncoustics is a start-up that uses AI on ultrasound data to help find disease. We are looking to hire a student for an 8 month Co‑Op term. Eligible applicants should be in their second year or beyond in a computer engineering or medical based field, and have some programming experience. Specifics of the opportunity include:

• Learn the basics and help in the construction of ML models for classification and object detection
• Assisting in and learning the tools to feature engineering and signal processing to improve data quality
• Research and keep up to date with state of the art methods in signal processing and ML
• Collaborate with other team members for most efficient development

• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited Canadian University or College during the co‑op placement.
• Experience in coding, ideally Python and MATLAB
• Completed at least the second year, and currently enrolled in a accredited Canadian undergrad in Engineering, Comp Sci, Physics, Math, etc
• Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• Must be willing to come into our Toronto Office, 155 Queens Quay East

• Industry experience in signal processing and/or ML
• Prior experience in the biomedical field
• Experience with ultrasound imaging and processing
• Experience with pytorch, sklearn, numpy, and scipy
• Experience with signal and Image processing; machine vision
