A leading fin‑tech company is hiring a Principal Data Engineer for a full‑time opportunity in Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite). This role is ideal for a senior engineer who has strong experience with Java + Spring Boot and enjoys building modern, large‑scale data and machine learning platforms.

You’ll have the opportunity to define and modernize next‑generation data platforms while exploring emerging AI capabilities. The team is looking for a hands‑on technical leader who can architect scalable solutions, mentor engineers, and drive innovation.

• 8+ years of data engineering experience
• Strong experience with AWS, Snowflake, and Databricks
• Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience designing scalable data pipelines and cloud‑native architectures
• PostgreSQL and MongoDB experience
• CI/CD and Dev Ops experience
• Proven technical leadership and mentoring experience

• Experience with AI/ML, LLMs, or Agentic AI
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Financial services industry experience
