Software Engineer in Test

Work Model:
Hybrid (2 days onsite, Tuesday & Wednesday)

We are seeking an experienced Software Quality Specialist IV to join the Mobile & Online Technology team supporting one of Canada's leading digital banking platforms. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test solutions to ensure the delivery of high-quality mobile and online banking applications.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on customer-facing applications within a collaborative Agile environment while contributing to high-impact digital initiatives.

• Design, develop, and execute automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API applications.
• Build, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks using Java and Selenium.
• Develop and execute API automation tests using Rest Assured.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and QA team members to ensure high-quality software delivery.
• Identify, document, and track software defects through resolution.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Continuously improve testing processes, automation coverage, and overall quality practices.

• 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Java programming.
• Extensive experience using Selenium Web Driver for automation testing.
• Strong experience with Rest Assured for API automation testing.
• Experience building and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Hands‑on experience with Appium for mobile automation testing.
• Experience with in Banking or Financial Services environments.
• Java, Selenium, or Appium certifications.
• Experience testing mobile applications.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices.
• Hybrid work model (2 days onsite in downtown Toronto; subject to business requirements).
• Collaborative Agile team supporting enterprise-scale digital banking applications.
