Senior Back-End Engineer at Rumble

Join Rumble Studio in Toronto as a Senior Back-End Engineer. You’ll design and optimize backend systems for our real-time video production platform using Type Script and Golang.

This senior individual contributor role provides the opportunity to own services from architecture to deployment. You’ll need expertise in building APIs with REST and GraphQL, operating in distributed systems, and leveraging PostgreSQL and Redis for data management. Expect to collaborate with cross-functional teams to tackle complex problems effectively through strong systems design practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement backend services in Type Script and Golang

• Own APIs and optimize database access with PostgreSQL and Redis

• Collaborate on system architecture with cross-functional teams

• Enhance performance and reliability of backend systems

• Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents across layers

Requirements:

• Strong experience in backend engineering with Type Script and Golang

• Proficiency in SQL, PostgreSQL, and Redis

• Experience designing REST and GraphQL APIs

• Familiar with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Strong debugging skills in complex environments
