What is the Opportunity?
RBC Trade Finance Technology team is responsible for developing, enhancing and maintaining applications serving business, operational teams and RBC customers.

Job Description
As a Senior Full Stack Software Developer operating within an Agile team, your primary role will be designing, coding and delivering highest-quality software solutions. You will also be expected to play a key role in building modern applications to support business growth. We are looking for a highly motivated, top-notch software engineer who is a great team player constantly thinking about quality, maintainability, robustness, and simplicity in all generated code.

What will you do?

Analyze, debug and resolve production or risk issues related to, but not limited to application st abilities, application performance, cyber security, and system latency.

Proactively identify operational risks/control deficiencies & opportunities for automation within the platform to increase productivity.

Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders (product, architecture, security) to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

Support and conduct releases impact technical assessment, PIV for applications and infrastructure related initiatives.

Work in an Agile team environment which is fast‑paced, fun and collaborative.

What do you need to succeed?
Must have:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related fields.

Experience with Java/Spring Boot/JMS/Kafka/MongoDB/MQ for building modern applications with Cloud platforms (Open Shift, AWS, Azure).

Proven experience with integrating backend services utilizing REST to integrate and collaborate effectively between backend and frontend systems.

Hands‑on experience in modernizing legacy systems, including refactoring codebases and migrating to modern architectures or frameworks.

Hands‑on experience with Git Hub, Git Hub Actions, Jira, and Confluence.

Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written).

Nice to have:

Experience with using Gen AI developer productivity boost tools.

Quick learner with aptitude to pick up new technologies and business knowledge.

Highly motivated with the capability to work independently and effectively, but with willingness and a great attitude for collaboration.

Experience with Angular.

Understanding of Test‑Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development.
