Position: Hitachi Rail Software Development Intern
Become a Software Development Intern at Hitachi Rail, located in Scarborough, ON. Collaborate on critical rail software projects while enhancing your coding skills in a supported hybrid environment.

The internship runs for 12 months, from September 2026 to August 2027, and is designed for students pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering or similar fields. You'll be involved in developing tools for CI/CD pipelines and implementing algorithms for safety-critical systems. You'll receive mentorship from senior staff and engage in networking opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support development processes for safety-critical software

• Develop software tools for CI/CD migration

• Build testing utilities in the CI/CD framework

• Document solutions and create reports for management

• Collaborate with senior engineers on projects

Requirements:

• Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s in relevant field

• Strong knowledge of Python and C/C++

• Familiarity with Dev Ops tools like Git and Jira

• Highly adaptable with strong problem-solving skills

• Available for 40 hours per week during the internship
