About the Role
Our client, a leading Canadian automotive organization, is looking for a Senior SAP Developer to join their Information Services team on a contract basis. This is a hands-on technical leadership role supporting a portfolio of 12 custom applications built on SAP BTP Cloud Foundry, alongside core SAP S/4
HANA development across key business modules.
You'll work closely with an on-site solution architect, functional analysts, and an offshore AMS team - one collaborative group with no hard line between TCI employees and vendor resources. The team runs lean and values people who can operate independently, communicate well across technical and business stakeholders, and take ownership of complex problems end to end.
What You'll Do
Lead enhancement and maintenance work across 12 custom BTP Cloud Foundry applications built using the Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP), Node.js, and SAP UI5/FioriDevelop and optimize backend SAP logic using advanced ABAP techniques including OData services, BAPIs, BADIs, CDS Views, and enhancement frameworks on S/4
HANAOwn incident triage and production support for complex, high-priority issues — particularly in the Warranty & Claims and Vehicle Management System areasBuild and consume secure OData and RESTful APIs connecting S/4
HANA with custom BTP applicationsReview and provide technical guidance on deliverables from the AMS offshore team, ensuring adherence to timelines, standards, and best practicesCollaborate with functional analysts, solution architects, project managers, and business teams to deliver high-quality SAP solutionsWhat We're Looking For
Must-Haves
10+ years of SAP ABAP development experience on S/4
HANA (OO-ABAP, CDS Views, OData, enhancement frameworks)Proven experience building production applications using SAP CAP (Cloud Application Programming Model) and Node.js on BTP Cloud FoundryStrong knowledge of XSUAA concepts — authentication, scopes, roles, and token management for BTP cloud applicationsHands-on SAP UI5/Fiori development experience, including custom application development and deployment on BTPExperience in at least two of the following SAP modules:
Warranty & Claims (highly preferred), Vehicle Management System (VMS), Finance (FI), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), or Procure-to-Pay (PTP)Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across both backend ABAP and custom Fiori/BTP applicationsComfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional environment alongside business analysts, solution architects, and offshore vendor teamsNice-to-Have
Experience with Azure Dev Ops for CI/CD deploymentsFamiliarity with SAP Business Application Studio (BAS)Git and VS Code for version control and development
