Software Analyst Intern

Location:

Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)

Work Hours:

40 hours per week

Pay: $23–$30 CAD hourly

• Understands and follows the company's processes and procedures for developing vital software for safety‑critical railway systems
• Assist with software development and algorithm implementations for safety‑critical systems
• Develop software tools and scripts that enhance CI/CD by migrating solutions to a generic Hitachi Rail CI/CD pipeline
• Develop fitness testing (Python, C, wiki) within the context of CI/CD for safety‑critical software based on requirements
• Document the software solution in the wiki
• Develop metrics and dashboards for management reporting

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution
• Strong knowledge of Python, C/C++, Shell scripting, JSON, and Groovy
• Experience in a Dev Ops environment with tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins, and Artifactory
• Hands‑on experience using Git Hub Copilot
• Highly adaptable, quick learner, self‑driven, curious, and proactive
• Strong problem‑solving skills
• Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Available to work full‑time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the agreed work term
• Hybrid work arrangement: minimum of two days per week in the office; first month requires a full‑time onsite presence
