Software Analyst Intern
Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid)
Work Hours:
40 hours per week
Pay: $23–$30 CAD hourly
Key Responsibilities
Understands and follows the company's processes and procedures for developing vital software for safety‑critical railway systems
Assist with software development and algorithm implementations for safety‑critical systems
Develop software tools and scripts that enhance CI/CD by migrating solutions to a generic Hitachi Rail CI/CD pipeline
Develop fitness testing (Python, C, wiki) within the context of CI/CD for safety‑critical software based on requirements
Document the software solution in the wiki
Develop metrics and dashboards for management reporting
Required Skills and Experience
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution
Strong knowledge of Python, C/C++, Shell scripting, JSON, and Groovy
Experience in a Dev Ops environment with tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jira, Jenkins, and Artifactory
Hands‑on experience using Git Hub Copilot
Highly adaptable, quick learner, self‑driven, curious, and proactive
Strong problem‑solving skills
Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills
Available to work full‑time (40 hours per week) for the duration of the agreed work term
Hybrid work arrangement: minimum of two days per week in the office; first month requires a full‑time onsite presence
Preferred Qualifications
In‑depth knowledge and experience of software development
Good organizational abilities
Ability to quickly integrate with the team and work independently
