Role Overview

We are seeking a senior Front-End Engineering Lead with strong experience in modern front-end development and practical experience building, maintaining, or supporting design systems and reusable component libraries.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineering leader who can define front-end architecture, develop scalable and accessible components, manage CI/CD and release processes, and help product teams

adopt shared design system solutions.

A dedicated Design System Engineer title is not required. We are looking for an experienced front-end engineer or lead who has worked with design systems as part of broader product or platform engineering initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technical development and evolution of the design system and shared component platform.
• Build new components and refactor existing components to be modular, reusable, extensible, accessible, and well-tested.
• Define standards for component architecture, design tokens, versioning, release processes, and breaking changes.
• Design and maintain Git Hub Actions workflows for build, testing, package publishing, and releases.
• Troubleshoot build failures, release issues, dependency conflicts, and publishing problems.
• Maintain monorepo and multi-package repository structures using tools such as pnpm work spaces and Turborepo.
• Establish automated testing and quality gates using Storybook, Chromatic, Playwright, Vitest, or similar tools.
• Support secure dependency management, vulnerability remediation, and production release controls.
• Create technical documentation, implementation guidance, and component usage standards.
• Train and support product engineering teams in adopting and using the design system effectively.
• Partner with designers, accessibility specialists, engineers, and stakeholders to make architecture and platform decisions.
• Mentor front-end engineers and provide technical leadership across the initiative.

Required Skills and Experience

• Strong experience as a senior front-end engineer, technical lead, or engineering lead.
• Hands-on experience with React and/or Angular
  .
• Experience with React concepts such as Hooks, custom hooks, component composition, Context API, Redux, and Redux Toolkit
  .
• Experience building reusable components, shared libraries, and NPM packages.
• Practical experience working with design systems, component libraries, design tokens, or shared front-end platforms.
• Experience with Git, Git Hub, Git Hub Actions, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with monorepos and build tools such as pnpm work spaces, Turborepo, Nx, or similar platforms.
• Experience with Storybook and automated front-end testing.
• Understanding of package versioning, release automation, and breaking-change management.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and technical leadership skills.
• Ability to work independently and make architecture decisions.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Web Components and Lit.
• Experience with Chromatic, Playwright, Vitest, Jest, or Cypress.
• Experience with design system documentation tools such as Supernova.
• Experience supporting design system adoption across multiple product teams.
• Experience with Dependabot, vulnerability remediation, and secure software supply-chain practices.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is primarily a strong front-end engineering leader who has experience working with design systems. They should be comfortable developing components, managing delivery pipelines, making architecture decisions, maintaining engineering standards, and helping product teams adopt reusable solutions.

The pay rangeforthis role is $130,000- $135,000 per annumincluding any bonuses or variable pay.
