Position: Senior Software Engineering Manager at Kong
Lead the development of reliable managed services as a Senior Software Engineering Manager at Kong in Toronto. Drive operational excellence and empower developers through your team’s commitment to top performance.

This role focuses on building a high-performing Site Reliability Engineering team from scratch in Toronto. You’ll directly contribute to critical implementations as well as enhance operational practices, deeply impacting Kong's Managed Gateways. Your leadership will shape the team as you ensure scalability and reliability while collaborating closely with engineering and product teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and lead a Managed Gateways SRE team in Toronto

• Contribute to implementations and ensure operational reliability

• Mentor high-performing teams for critical enterprise customers

• Architect fault-tolerant cloud-native systems using Kubernetes

• Own end-to-end operational lifecycle and continuous improvement

Requirements:

• Proven experience managing SRE or Dev Ops teams

• Expertise in distributed systems; AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Hands-on with Kubernetes and container orchestration

• Proficient in Golang or similar languages

• Strong observability knowledge; familiar with Prometheus and Grafana
