Backend Software Engineer

Position: Backend Software Engineer at Kong

This engineering role focuses on developing microservices that enhance API management. You will ensure code quality and operational reliability by writing clean code, engaging in code reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Your expertise in backend fundamentals and Type Script will allow you to optimize service health and support API functionalities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain microservices for API management

• Write well-tested, clean code with unit and integration tests

• Participate in design discussions and code reviews

• Monitor and improve service operations for reliability

• Support production services with on-call participation

Requirements:

• 3+ years of backend development experience

• Proficient in Type Script, Node.js, and ideally NestJS

• Strong relational database experience, particularly PostgreSQL

• Knowledge of REST APIs and third-party integrations

• Understanding of distributed systems concepts
