Join Lyft as an experienced Backend Software Engineer in the Road Safety & Telematics team. Help process petabytes of data to improve safety and affordability in our services.
This experienced role involves working cross-functionally to enhance Telematics systems. You will collaborate closely with data scientists and product teams to implement risk management features targeting driver safety. Your focus will be on high-quality results, end-to-end project execution, and ongoing system improvements that impact our key mission.
Key Responsibilities:
• Champion safety insights for driver ranking and accident claims
• Lead medium to large-scale engineering projects
• Collaborate with Data Scientists for model production
• Improve the accuracy of predictive models and reduce latency
• Maintain and enhance Telematics systems while reducing tech debt
Requirements:
• 4+ years of software engineering experience
• Proficient in Python, AWS, Spark, SQL
• Familiarity with microservices and API development
• Strong communication skills for team collaboration
• Comfortable with on-call responsibilities
