Software Engineer (C++)- Platform & Emerging Technologies Montreal or Toronto

Autodesk is looking for a Software Engineer to help build the next generation of cloud services, data platforms, and AI-powered capabilities that support Autodesk products and customers worldwide. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and evolution of scalable services and platform capabilities that power Autodesk's growing SaaS ecosystem. You will work alongside experienced engineers, architects, product managers, and UX designers to develop high-quality solutions that enable innovation across Autodesk's products and services.

• Software Development
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality software solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of cloud services, APIs, and platform capabilities.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new features and enhancements.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well‑documented code.
  • Develop automated tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
  • Participate in code reviews and apply software engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and production issues.
• Platform & Cloud Development
  • Contribute to the development of scalable SaaS and cloud‑based solutions.
  • Help build and maintain APIs and backend services.
  • Participate in improving platform reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
  • Support the evolution of data platforms and intelligent platform capabilities.
  • Learn and apply cloud‑native development principles and modern engineering practices.
• Collaboration & Learning
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, Architects, and fellow engineers to deliver customer value.
  • Participate in Agile planning, estimation, and delivery activities.
  • Work closely with team members to solve technical challenges and share knowledge.
  • Continuously learn new technologies, tools, and engineering practices.
  • Contribute ideas that improve products, processes, and developer experiences.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2–5 years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern software development technologies, including: C++ and Python
• Object‑oriented design and software architecture principles
• Desired proficiency with:
  Type Script, .NET/C#, Java and Spring Boot
• Understanding of software development fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
• Basic understanding of APIs and web services.
• Interest in cloud computing and SaaS technologies.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast‑paced environment.

• Experience with Java and Spring Boot through academic, personal, internship, or professional projects.
• Familiarity with AWS or other cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and distributed systems concepts.
• Experience with Git and source control systems.
• Familiarity with automated testing practices.
• Interest in data platforms, artificial intelligence, or cloud‑native technologies.
• Participation in open‑source, academic, or personal software projects.
