- Senior Software Engineer
- Growth based in Canada.

This is a senior engineering role focused on building and supporting the long-term growth of a widely used invoicing platform. You will serve as a technical reference for a focused engineering team, contributing directly to architecture, implementation, testing, and production delivery. The role combines hands-on software development with technical mentorship and close collaboration with product and engineering stakeholders. You will help shape the roadmap, drive product refinement, and ensure solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with customer and business needs.

The environment emphasizes continuous delivery, ownership, experimentation, and strong engineering practices. This is a fully remote opportunity in Canada, with the option to use an office in Toronto.

• Act as a technical reference for a focused engineering team, providing guidance on architecture, implementation, quality, and engineering practices.
• Mentor developers and emerging technical leaders, helping strengthen engineering capabilities through knowledge sharing, technical direction, and feedback.
• Partner with engineering and product stakeholders to refine the product roadmap and translate customer and business needs into technical solutions.
• Stay current with technologies, frameworks, tooling, and development practices that can improve the software development lifecycle.
• Help plan and drive the execution of product features, actively contributing to software development, implementation, automated testing, and production deployment.
• Take a leading role in product refinement sessions and guide the team toward delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
• Promote strong engineering standards, including scalable design, automated testing, quality code reviews, and solutions that are easy to operate and support.
• Contribute to the continued evolution and growth of a platform serving a large and diverse base of small businesses and independent professionals.

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering scalable software solutions.
• 3+ years of experience building modern applications using React, Type Script, and Tailwind.
• Strong knowledge of the Node.js ecosystem and associated frontend and backend tooling, including technologies such as Webpack and Vite.
• Extensive experience with database modeling and caching technologies across relational and document databases, including PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and development, as well as experience working with large-scale third-party integrations.
• Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
• Understanding of common software vulnerabilities and practical approaches to addressing them.
• Experience working across multiple programming paradigms, including object-oriented and functional programming.
• Familiarity with modern version control and continuous integration practices, including Git, Docker, and Git Hub Actions.
• Strong commitment to automated testing, quality code reviews, and maintainable engineering practices.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and tools such as Jira, Scrum, and Kanban.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills, combined with a curious, data-driven, and problem-solving mindset.
• Experience supporting applications with 100,000+ users is an asset.
• Experience with React Native, Next.js and server-side development is an asset.
