About the job

Our Blog Team owns and evolves the technology that powers Open Table’s B2B and B2C blogs. We’re a small, distributed team based across Toronto and Lithuania, working across the full web stack to deliver reliable, high-performing experiences for diners, restaurateurs, and the teams that support them.

We’re evolving our platform to help the business launch content and landing pages faster, make useful content for restaurateurs easier to maintain and reuse, and ensure every experience follows our brand guidelines. We partner closely with design, content, marketing, and engineering while creating a stronger foundation for AI-assisted content workflows.

As an engineer on the Diner Growth – Blog Team, you’ll take ownership of evolving our CMS and web platform. You’ll work across the full stack-from our existing Word Press, PHP, and Apache foundation through to modern frontend technologies-to improve performance, reliability, maintainability, and the developer and content-authoring experience.

You’ll work closely with design and B2B partners to build reusable, brand-consistent content and landing-page capabilities that shorten launch cycles. You’ll strengthen the platform foundations—from frontend components and CMS integrations to DNS, caching, and CDN delivery-and help us evaluate where alternative CMS platforms, headless approaches, or no-code solutions could support the business at enterprise scale.

Responsibilities

• Experience with Word Press/CMS is a strong plus, but not required. We’re looking for self-driven engineers who take ownership, are excited about evolving AI systems, and can build scalable, high-impact products.
• You don’t need to know everything from day one. We value curiosity, ownership, and continuous improvement, and provide dedicated time each sprint to experiment, learn, and explore new approaches.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5+ years or software engineering experience, or equivalent relevant experience
• Strong full-stack engineering experience building and operating production web platforms
• Strong experience with modern frontend technologies such as React, Type Script, and Java Script
• Experience working across frontend and backend systems, APIs, and integrations
• A solid understanding of the web and network stack, including DNS, HTTP, caching, CDN behavior, performance, and reliability
• Experience designing reusable components and maintainable systems for content-rich digital experiences
• Experience with modern CI/CD practices and operating reliable production systems
• A track record of working closely with design, product, content, or marketing partners to turn requirements and brand guidelines into scalable solutions
• The ability to evaluate technical trade-offs, improve existing systems pragmatically, and take ownership from discovery through delivery
• Proficiency in English and strong communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience operating Word Press, PHP, and Apache in a production environment
