* * This position is required to work in person at various sites across the city.  Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.
** Position Overview
** This position is responsible for visiting the various City Parks to educate and communicate with Park Users on City by-laws, and to support staff and user groups on-site with permits, tournaments, and special events.

this position primarily works evenings, weekends, and holidays.
**** Responsibilities
* * As the Sport Ambassador, you are responsible for:
* Responding to inquiries and resolving on-site issues, including but not limited to sport field lighting and permits.
* Assisting Supervisor, Sports Development on-site with logistics, field condition monitoring, and customer service during tournaments and special events on sport fields.
* Visit the various City Parks to ensure safety and that City by-laws and policies are being followed and communicating City by-laws and policies to users. Picking up litter and debris from sports fields.
* Reporting on maintenance issues, damage, and vandalism to City Parks and amenities.
* Ensuring risk management practices, policies and procedures are followed.
* Distributing marketing information, conducting customer surveys, and gathering information on requests for future enhancements and updates to sport fields.
** Requirements
* * The Sport Ambassador requires a High School diploma or enrolment in post-secondary education in recreation, sports management, law enforcement or a related field.  Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.  Experience in a recreation or sport environment is considered an asset.  
** Candidates must be available to start by May 10, 2026.
** It is expected that staff will be available to work for the duration of their contract and staff will find their own coverage for any time off. Time off is at the discretion of the Supervisor, Sports Development.

A valid G2 driver’s license is required with an acceptable driver’s abstract with no more than three (3) driving related convictions or an accumulation of no more than three (3) demerit points in the previous three (3) years prior to the date of hire, and/or no administrative driver license (ADLS) suspensions.
