Job Summary:We are looking for dedicated
Group Fitness Instructors,Pilates, and Zumbateachers to build out ouron-siteclass schedules and sub lists for the Toronto area.
These group fitness professionalsareresponsible for planning and delivering high-quality group exercise classes that are positive,engaging, educational, safe, and effective for participants of varying fitness levels.
Group Fitness Instructors foster a motivating environment while providing fitness instruction,demonstrating proper exercise techniques and offering adjustments as needed.
Additionally, the instructor willmaintaina clean and organized workout space,uphold Arch Amenities Group's commitment to customer satisfaction, and work closely with the Fitness Center Director to promote other classes and programs within the facility.
Personal training and front desk coverage opportunities may also be available for those who are interested and qualified.
Shortlisted candidates willbe required to complete an in-person teaching demonstration with participants as part of the selection process.
- Arrive
10 minutes early to class toprepare the workout space,welcome participants,and address concerns. - Be professionally dressed and ready with music cued and the routine prepared prior to the start of class.
- Greet regular and new participants by name and build rapport.
- Provide a safe and effective exercise environment for all participants.
- Offer modifications and guidance for all fitness levels and abilities.
- Teach classes with enthusiasm, energy, and clarity, maintaining a motivating and supportive tone.
- Share educational and fitness-related content to enhance participant knowledge.
- Monitor class for safety, correct form, and participation engagement.
- Stay up to date on current fitness trends, safety protocols, and teaching best practices.
- Begin and end classes on time andmaintaincleanliness and orderliness of the workout area.
- Report any equipment or facility issues to the management team.
- Attend required staff meetings and professional training sessions.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in regard tothe promotion and growth of the group fitness program and overall program engagement within the facility.
Education & Certification
- Certification from a nationally accredited organization (e.g.,CFES,Canfitpro,CPTN-CPT,NPTA,ACE, AFAA, NASM) is required.
- Educational background in Physical Education, Exercise Science, Health Education, or a related field is preferred.
- Current CPR and Standard First Aid certifications are required.
- Expertise in Group Exercise, Group Exercise Instruction, and Fitness Instruction.
- Strong understanding of Exercise Physiology and fitness training principles.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to instruct individuals and large groups, as well as communicate effectively with facility management.
- Must be physically fit and able todemonstrateall exercises effectively.
- Ability to independently plan and lead group exercise routines.
- Must be dependable, professional, and enthusiastic.
- Capable ofmaintainingconfidentiality and using discretion.
- Ability to motivate and engage participants with varying fitness levels.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lead physically demanding classes.
- Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, and stretching movements.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Use of hands for equipment operation and instruction.
- Regularly required to speak clearly and hear instructions or questions.
