Team Canada Beach Assistant Coach position is based in Toronto at the Volleyball Canada Beach High Performance Centre (HPC) located in Downsview Park. Working under the direction of the Men’s and Women’s Next Gen Coaches and the Beach High Performance Manager, the Assistant Coach supports the delivery of the National Team Program with the goal of developing elite athletes and contributing to international performance success.

• Support the delivery of the High Performance Plan, elevated through Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across the following areas for Next Gen and Summer program athletes:
  • Athlete development
  • Coach development
  • Competition
  • Daily training environment
  • Management
  • Strength & conditioning
• Provide assistance with the following:
  • Planning, implementing, and monitoring annual and quadrennial training programs for high‑performance beach athlete development using LTAD principles.
  • Supporting team and individual training plans on a weekly and day‑to‑day basis.
  • Contributing to the planning and monitoring of competition schedules aligned with national and international calendars.
  • Upholding an international performance focus through evidence‑based practices and measurable KPIs.
  • Collaborating with Canadian Sport Institute
    
    IO to help integrate appropriate sport science and sport medicine services
  • Identifying and recruiting beach athletes with international potential
  • Support the development and mentorship of working with Beach Next Gen and Summer Program athletes
  • Provide coach support at Downsview Park or Ash bridges Bay when one or both Men’s and Women’s Next Gen coaches are at FIVB or NORCECA competitions
  • Provide coach support at tournaments as required
  • Assist in preparing annual progress reports on athlete performance using testing results and data
  • Support supervision of the Beach High Performance Centre, ensuring adherence to program values, facility rules and standards
  • Other duties as assigned by Volleyball Canada

• Extensive knowledge of volleyball skills and tactics
• Ability to work in Canada
• Strong organization and time management skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all stakeholders in a pleasant and professional manner
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with athletes in person, as well as in virtual environments
• NCCP Performance Coach Certification or equivalent related experiences
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience athlete development or a related discipline.
• Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset
• Salary commensurate with experience.

This is a full-time position. Anticipated start date May 1 st , 2026

Salary range of $55-65K dependent on relevant experience and qualifications.
