As a Shipping Coordinator, you'll be responsible for managing all aspects of shipping operations, including coordinating shipments, preparing documentation, and ensuring timely delivery. You will work closely with carriers, vendors, and internal teams to optimize transportation routes, minimize costs, and maintain high standards of efficiency. The ideal candidate has a strong background in logistics, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

JOB DESCRIPTION (FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES)
  • Responsible for daily shipping/receiving operations.
  • Ensure items received agree with Bill of Ladings and are covered by Purchase Order.
  • Prepare necessary Receiving Reports for office use and distribute same.
  • Responsible for adhering to quality, cost, and service objectives of the company.
  • Maintain and foster effective communication & work relationships with customer shipping departments.
  • Verification of product vs. carton labels vs. work order vs. quantity.
  • Responsible for completing ASNs as per customer requirements and specifications.
  • Coordinate between customer care, quality, and shipping to complete any "RUSH" requests.
  • Planning for logistics and transportation needs.
  • Keeping track of the delivery times and transportations cost.
  • Maintain reports and records of incoming inventory.
  • Tracking the status of goods in real time to ensure contracts are being fulfilled.
  • Deliver solutions to any logistics problem while maintaining a high quality of service.
  • Monitor existing logistics systems and make suggestions for improvement.
  • Advising on optimal transportation activities such as routing, equipment, and schedule delivery.
  • Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Effective and well-developed communication skills.
  • Proven Shipping / Receiving history or background.
  • Team player to interface and service inter-departmental and customer needs.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, analytical, and technical competency.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while maintaining calm demeanor.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Ensure that all personnel work in a safe manner utilizing the protective devices, measures and procedures, as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Ensure that all personnel use, or wear, the equipment, protective devices or clothing properly as required by the employer.
  • Enforce all company safety rules and regulations and report hazardous conditions that require improvement.
  • Investigate any work refusal situations immediately, following the "Refusal to Work" guidelines in conjunction with a Joint Health and Safety Committee Representative.
  • Take every reasonable precaution, for the protection of the worker.
