About

the Role

Tonies US is seeking a highly skilled Logistics Operations Specialist - Canada responsible for managing and coordinating inbound and outbound transportation flows across Canada. This role supports international and domestic logistics operations, with a primary focus on inbound international freight. The position oversees ocean and air freight movements, customs coordination, drayage, and domestic transportation to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant delivery of goods.

The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, operationally focused, and comfortable working with multiple transportation providers and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution across the end-to-end shipment lifecycle. The ideal location is in the Metro Toronto Region. Travel is expected to be circa 25% including Canadian and North America destinations as part of the North American Operations Team. The position reports to Director of Logistics and Fulfillment.

Responsibilities

International Logistics

  • Coordinate inbound international ocean and air freight shipments into Canada
  • Manage end-to-end shipment execution, including booking, documentation, customs clearance, drayage, and final delivery
  • Verify compliance with applicable customs regulations, trade requirements, and Incoterms
  • Partner closely with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and ocean and air carriers to deliver timely and accurate shipment processing
  • Monitor shipment status, proactively identify risks or delays, and drive resolution to minimize service disruptions

Domestic Transportation

  • Manage domestic transportation across Canada, including:
  • Drayage
  • Full Truckload (FTL) and Less-than-Truckload (LTL)
  • Parcel and small package services
  • Hot shot and expedited services
  • Domestic air freight
  • Coordinate inbound deliveries to distribution centers and outbound shipments to customers or partners
  • Optimize routing, carrier selection, and service levels to balance cost and performance
  • Resolve carrier performance issues, accessorial charges, and delivery exceptions
  • Work closely with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to support warehousing, transportation, and execution requirements
  • Maintain strong working relationships with transportation providers and service partners
  • Support carrier onboarding, performance tracking, and ongoing service management
  • Maintain accurate shipment data, documentation, and records in TMS and logistics platforms
  • Track key logistics KPIs, including transit time, service levels, and freight costs
  • Support freight auditing, discrepancy resolution, and cost control initiatives
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and support the development of standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, operations, finance, and customer service teams to ensure alignment and visibility
Qualifications
  • Experience supporting cross-border U.S.–Canada logistics operations
  • Familiarity with customs documentation and broker coordination
  • Experience working in a consumer goods, retail, or distribution environment.
  • 5+ years of experience in international logistics, with a strong focus on inbound ocean and air freight
