BILINGUAL TRAFFIC CONTROL OFFICER @ BILLY BISHOP AIRPORT
A.S.P. is looking for a bilingual traffic control officer committed to ensuring the safety and efficiency of airport operations and seeking a skilled and dedicated candidate to join our dynamic team at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport.
What you will do:- Act as a welcoming agent and greet passengers arriving at the airport in a helpful, friendly manner.
- Assist persons with disabilities from the curb into the designated waiting areas and with contacting their air carrier for further assistance.
- Monitor and verify vehicles and/or persons boarding the ferry or entering the ferry facilities.
- Monitor and control the ground transportation and parking activities, prevent unattended vehicles, and assist with curbside issues while maintaining the smooth and free flow of traffic on the Mainland and Island sides of the Airport.
- Educate passengers on parking and waiting options to help limit roadside congestion, unattended vehicles and ensure pedestrian safety.
- Patrol the ground side curb, taxi corral and finger lanes.
- Control vehicles and pedestrians on airport property.
- Monitor transportation companies conducting business at the airport.
- Act as first response in case of emergency.
- Enforce the airport policies on ground side.
- Report all enforcement infractions and provide feedback to resolve problems or situations.
- During emergencies, assist in various roles such as traffic coordination, as required.
- Act as Evacuation Wardens during building evacuations.
- Liaise and communicate with parking enforcement, taxi inspectors and police, for enforcement purposes and take a proactive approach to resolve traffic related problems in accordance with regulations and/or Ports Toronto policy.
- Carry and operate portable radios to communicate with each other and the Airport Operations Communication Center.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Fluent in both French and English mandatory.
- Minimum High School diploma or Grade 12 education.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
- Proficient computer skills such as Microsoft Office.
- Self‑motivated individual with a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent written & verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Ability to physically patrol the curbside is mandatory.
- Must possess a valid security license, and Standard First Aid certification.
- Possession of a valid Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) is an asset.
- Expected compensation: $19.55 – $22.00 per hour.
- The compensation range reflects base hourly pay and does not include overtime or premiums where applicable.
