Surface Maintenance Specialist at GTAA

Elevate airport operations with the Greater Toronto Airports Authority as a Surface Maintenance Specialist. This seasonal role focuses on maintaining ground surfaces while ensuring safety and efficiency.

As a permanent seasonal position from September to April, you will report to the Manager of Airfield Maintenance. Key responsibilities include operating airport equipment, conducting inspections for debris, and supporting emergency response efforts. Your work will directly enhance passenger experience at Toronto Pearson Airport.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair airport surfaces, both airside and ground side

• Conduct inspections to collect foreign debris and litter

• Act as first responder to oil and debris spills

• Train new employees in equipment operation and AVOP

• Apply de-icing and anti-icing chemicals as necessary

Requirements:

• Valid “D/Z” Provincial Driver’s License

• Experience in snow removal and heavy equipment operations

• Secondary school diploma or heavy equipment operation experience

• Ability to obtain a Transportation Security Clearance

• Willingness to work in various weather conditions
