About the Role
Cancore Building Services is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Heavy Commercial Driver (DZ) to operate our Kenworth dump truck for aggregate/material hauling and/or flatbed work moving construction and landscaping equipment.
This is a hands-on position supporting our growing operations in window cleaning, landscaping, snow removal, property maintenance, and custom development projects across the Greater Toronto Area.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Kenworth dump truck for aggregate, sand, gravel, and related material hauling
- Operate or assist with flatbed trucking to transport equipment including scissor lifts, bins, Bobcats/skid steers, and other construction/landscaping equipment
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Load, secure, and unload materials and equipment according to safety standards
- Maintain accurate logs, delivery records, and paperwork
- Coordinate with dispatch, yard, and site supervisors for efficient scheduling
- Adhere to all highway traffic laws, company safety policies, and Ontario commercial vehicle regulations
- Assist with yard duties, equipment staging, and general support as needed
- Valid Ontario DZ driver’s licence (required)
- Clean driving abstract
- Proven experience driving heavy commercial vehicles (Kenworth dump truck experience preferred)
- Experience with flatbed hauling of construction equipment (scissor lifts, bins, Bobcats, etc.) is a strong asset
- Knowledge of proper load securing, weight distribution, and tie-down procedures
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically capable of climbing in/out of cab, securing loads, and performing manual tasks
- Strong safety mindset and reliable attendance
- Ability to communicate clearly and follow instructions
- Experience in aggregate trucking, landscaping, or construction materials delivery
- Familiarity with GTA routes and construction sites
- Basic mechanical aptitude for minor truck issues
- First Aid / CPR certification (an asset)
