Job Overview

Responsible for supervising and coordinating specific warehouse, receiving, production and shipping activities. The role ensures that all employees work within the established regulations, policies and procedures regarding health and safety, the environment, and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate receiving of inbound raw material and shipping of finished goods products.
  • Assign, prioritize and supervise work duties to meet schedules.
  • Requisition material and supplies to support daily operations and monitor associated inventory.
  • Complete documentation required under regulatory regulations.
  • Document and record all workplace incidents immediately in incident reports.
  • Follow and guide others on the company’s health and safety program, rules, procedures and compliance with health and safety-related legislation and codes.
  • Provide employees with continual input on work performance and act as a guide for improvement.
  • Perform problem solving/root cause analysis when problems or errors occur; scan material in and out of the supermarket or warehouse, print required documents and labels.
  • Identify and resolve issues in various functional areas including line feeding, re-pack, put-away and pick areas.
  • Proactively respond to and resolve workplace conflicts respectfully and appropriately.
  • Proactively engage in problem solving as issues arise and lead others to do the same.
  • Release orders following established guidelines and procedures.
  • Daily reconciliation of order status.
  • Monitor and track time and attendance for employees assigned to the inbound/outbound area.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Perform system and/or manual tasks to support inbound and outbound operations.
  • Check NAV computer system for correct locations for put-away/picking problems for orders.
  • Distribute and delegate orders on a daily basis to operators/employees.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, promoting a culture of integrity, ethics, and respect.
  • Foster a supportive team culture and environment conducive to collaboration and growth.
Recipe for Success
  • Completion of high school education or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in the manufacturing industry in a shipping and receiving role; experience with Navision is an asset.
  • Forklift operator certification is an asset.
  • Effective stress management skills.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of health & safety requirements.
  • Ability to quickly learn in-house systems.
  • Deadline-oriented with an ability to work with a sense of urgency.
  • Basic knowledge of HACCP/GMP requirements.
  • Ability to work in a team, and/or under minimal supervision.
