Litigation Legal Assistant
Downtown Toronto
Work from Home Two Days a Week
Our client, a well established full service law firm located in the core of downtown Toronto seeks a Commercial Litigation Legal Assistant to join its team. This is a full time permanent role.
While the role is primarily litigation based, there are additional opportunities to gain experience in other areas of the law.
Duties & Responsibilities- Opening and closing files
- Drafting/proofreading, serving, and filing legal documents
- Providing transcriptions
- Managing day to day demands of multiple lawyers and their practices
- Maintaining physical and electronic document systems
- Preparing bills of costs
- Calendar and email management
- Other duties as assigned
- 2+ years of experience in the legal industry
- Experience in general commercial litigation as well as the commercial list
- Experience with construction liens
- Familiarity with Case Center
- Bankruptcy and insolvency experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multi-task and manage your time in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail
- Maintain strict confidentiality
- Completion of a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk Diploma an asset
