We are seeking a highly motivated and qualified Secondary Science Teacher to join our successful and forward-thinking secondary school in Plymouth. This full-time, temporary post is ideal for a dedicated Science professional ready to contribute fully to departmental success within Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
The core focus of this position is to deliver high-quality, engaging Science lessons. We have flexibility depending on your preference: roles that include full planning and preparation are paid strictly to your scale, while positions with zero planning or prep responsibilities are paid at a flat daily rate. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional progress and positive outcomes for all students aged 11-16 as they develop their scientific enquiry, practical skills, and core knowledge across the sciences.

Main Pay Scale (MPS) or Upper Pay Scale (UPS) commensurate with experience for roles requiring full planning and preparation. - Daily Rate: GBP

160 per day for roles with no planning and prep required. - Weekly Pay:

- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in a Science discipline (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or a closely related field).
- Possesses recent, demonstrable experience teaching Science at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
- Exhibits excellent classroom management skills, with a strong awareness of laboratory safety protocols.
- Is passionate about Science and committed to raising student attainment.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of the National Curriculum requirements for Science.
- Is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
- Delivering high-quality Science lessons (including practical experiments) and assessing student progress.
- For full-scale roles: responsible for planning, preparation, and detailed marking of all pupils' work; contributing to schemes of work; undertaking a form tutor role; and actively participating in whole-school life.
