Are you a highly motivated and qualified Secondary English Teacher seeking a rewarding, fixed:term opportunity? We are looking for an exceptional practitioner to join our successful and forward:thinking secondary school in Plymouth. This full:time, temporary post is ideal for a dedicated English professional ready to contribute fully to departmental success within Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
The RoleThe core focus of this position is to deliver high:quality, engaging English Language and Literature lessons. We have flexibility depending on your preference: roles that include full planning and preparation are paid strictly to your scale, while positions with zero planning or prep responsibilities are paid at a flat daily rate. You will be responsible for ensuring exceptional progress and positive outcomes for all students aged 11:16 as they develop their literacy, analytical, and communication skills.

- Support:

- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in English (or a closely related field).
- Possesses recent, demonstrable experience teaching English at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

- Is passionate about English Literature and Language and committed to raising student attainment.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of the National Curriculum requirements for English.
- Is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
- Depending on the specific placement chosen, responsibilities will include delivering high:quality English lessons and assessing student progress.
- For full:scale roles, you will also take responsibility for the planning, preparation, and detailed marking of all pupils work, alongside contributing to schemes of work, undertaking a form tutor role, and actively participating in whole:school life.
