Randstad Education is actively recruiting an adaptable, enthusiastic English Specialist to support secondary schools across Plymouth and the surrounding areas. This role offers the perfect blend of subject specialist delivery and general cover teaching, allowing you to work strict school hours (8:30 AM : 3:30 PM) with absolutely no evening planning or marking.

• Deliver high-quality, pre-planned English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
• Provide flexible general cover across alternative secondary school subjects, maintaining excellent classroom management and engagement.
• Foster a positive, safe, and productive learning environment in line with individual school behaviour policies.
• Leave clear, constructive handover notes for the returning classroom teacher.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification (ECTs/NQTs are highly encouraged).
• A strong subject knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for secondary English.
• Excellent adaptability, strong communication skills, and a confident approach to general cover teaching.
• Must be based in or able to reliably commute to Plymouth.
• A valid Enhanced DBS clearance on the Update Service (or willingness to process a new one through Randstad).
