We are seeking a highly organised and professional School Administrator & Receptionist to join our team at Mayfield Chestnut, Brixham in the new school year.
This vital role involves managing front desk operations, providing administrative support, and ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day functioning of the school. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be proficient in various computer applications, and demonstrate a friendly yet efficient approach to handling enquiries and administrative tasks. Responsibilities- Welcome visitors, parents, and students with a courteous and professional demeanor at the reception area
- Answer phone calls promptly, maintaining excellent phone etiquette
- Manage appointments, schedules, and student enrolments using organisational tools and software
- Perform data entry tasks accurately into systems such as Microsoft Office, Teams, SIMS and Parent Pay
- Maintain filing systems and organise school documents efficiently
- Assist with general administrative duties including photocopying, scanning, and email correspondence
- Support the organisation of school events and meetings as required
- Handle incoming enquiries via email and in person with professionalism and clarity
- Ensure the reception area remains tidy, welcoming, and well‑stocked with necessary materials
- Previous office experience or administrative role within an educational or similar environment is preferred
- Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Experience with data entry and clerical duties demonstrating attention to detail
- Excellent phone etiquette coupled with friendly interpersonal skills

This role will be from 8.45 am to 3.15 pm, Monday
- Friday, Term time only. 30 hours per week. The actual salary for this working pattern is £18,124.90
