Workplace, Safety & Sustainability Coordinator (12-Month Fixed-Term Contract)

Exeter 25 hours per week (5 hours per day, Monday-Friday)

23,215 per annum (pro rata, 32,501 FTE)

Some people are at their best when they're keeping things organised, solving problems and making improvements behind the scenes.
They're the person who spots what's needed, keeps projects moving and ensures important details don't get missed. Whether that's coordinating workplace safety activities, supporting sustainability initiatives or helping facilities run smoothly, they're the person others rely on. If that sounds familiar, we'd love to hear from you.

We're recruiting for a newly created Workplace, Safety & Sustainability Coordinator role within a purpose-led organisation that genuinely makes a difference to people's lives.

This is a great opportunity to help shape a brand-new position, working across workplace safety, facilities and sustainability. You'll collaborate with teams throughout the business and play an important role in helping create a safe, compliant and environmentally responsible workplace.
No two days will be quite the same, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, ownership and working across multiple projects.

What you'll be doing
  • Coordinating ESG reporting and sustainability activities
  • Assisting with carbon reduction and environmental initiatives
  • Helping monitor progress against sustainability objectives
  • Acting as a key contact for workplace and facilities matters
  • Liaising with contractors, landlords and service providers
  • Maintaining statutory compliance, inspection and testing records
  • Supporting workplace improvement projects
  • Coordinating health and safety activities and risk assessments
  • Maintaining accident, incident and DSE records
  • Organising workplace safety training and awareness activities
  • Supporting internal and external audits
  • Providing reporting, administration and record-keeping support across multiple work streams
What we're looking for

You'll already have experience in an administration, coordination, compliance or operational support role and be comfortable managing a variety of responsibilities.

  • Is highly organised and takes pride in getting the details right
  • Can manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
  • Communicates confidently with people at all levels
  • Enjoys building positive working relationships
  • Is comfortable working with data, spreadsheets and reporting tools
  • Takes a proactive and solution-focused approach
  • Enjoys working across a broad range of business activities

Experience in health and safety, facilities administration, sustainability, ESG reporting or contractor management would be advantageous but isn't essential.

Why this role stands out

There are plenty of coordination roles. Few offer this combination of variety, flexibility and the opportunity to help shape a brand-new position.

  • Play a key role in workplace safety and sustainability initiatives
  • Gain experience across compliance, facilities and ESG activities
  • Work with stakeholders across the organisation
  • Join a supportive and collaborative team
  • Make a visible impact through your work
What's on offer
  • 23,215 per annum (pro rata, 32,501 FTE)
  • 34 days holiday (including bank holidays) plus your birthday off
  • Life Insurance and Medical Insurance Lite
  • Wellness programmes
  • Volunteering day
  • Pension scheme
  • Long service awards and employee discount scheme
  • On-site parking
  • Casual dress
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Learning and development opportunities
  • Hybrid working opportunities after six months' service (subject to role requirements)

If you're looking for a meaningful part-time role where you can make a genuine contribution, develop your skills and help shape a newly created position, we'd love to hear from you.
