We are looking for a confident, competent colleague to work in the Torbay & South Devon Community Dental Service and join our dedicated dental team. The main focus of the service is Special Care Dentistry with all the accompanying aspects. All our dentists are expected to provide some urgent care to local people who cannot otherwise access dental care.

Provide high quality dental care to adults and children with additional needs, including urgent care for residents and visitors to the area. Demonstrate and further develop the vision, mission and agreed values that guide the service. Provide full range of treatment for patients whose special needs have prevented them from accessing dental care through the General Dental Service, including Local Anaesthetic with or without sedation (both inhalation and IV sedation) as well as GA.

Deliver urgent dental care for patients unable to access treatment with a general dental practitioner, resolving acute problems appropriately, including extractions and permanent restorations. Manage administrative duties associated with these responsibilities, keep comprehensive contemporaneous records, and provide clinical leadership and management support for the dental teams.

Show sufficient knowledge and experience of the legislative and financial framework to provide advice or support on such matters to other members of the dental team. Take additional responsibilities for specific organisational or clinical issues within the service in accordance with Terms & Conditions for Salaried Primary Dental Care Services (England) January 2008 and later amendments.

Full GDC registration and performer number are essential requirements for this role.
