As our service continues to develop and grow, we are seeking creative, reflective and innovative Educational Psychologists to join our skilled, supportive and friendly team.
As an Educational Psychologist for Torbay Council, you will be a highly valued professional within the local authority, working collaboratively with SEND case officers, the virtual school, the vulnerable pupils’ team, early years practitioners and sensory impairment colleagues. You will be part of a genuinely integrated approach, with strong relationships across services and a shared commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
Torbay Educational Psychology Service operates a consultation‑based model of service delivery. We promote solution‑focused, person‑centred psychological approaches and place a strong emphasis on co‑production with children, young people, families, schools and partner agencies, supporting you to actively shape new and evolving ways of working and to facilitate meaningful and lasting change.
The service offers a balanced and sustainable workload, incorporating both traded and statutory work. Through a link Educational Psychologist model, you will work closely with Torbay schools, enabling you to build strong relationships and develop creative approaches to the delivery of psychology. You will have opportunities for in‑depth casework, systemic and preventative work, as well as involvement in projects focused on early identification and early intervention.

We welcome applications from professionally qualified EPs registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). We warmly welcome applications from trainees completing Doctoral‑level training in Applied Educational & Child Psychology, qualifying in September 2026, expecting to have their HCPC registration confirmed following the completion of a recognised training course.
