Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant – Full-time, temporary to permanent from September 2026

The Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers to support pupils in their early learning, helping them develop confidence, independence, and essential skills. This role is ideal for a caring and proactive Teaching Assistant seeking long-term progression within a supportive primary setting.
Dutiesas Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils across Key Stage 1 in lessons and daily classroom activities
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
- Assist with phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Support classroom routines, transitions, and organisation
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
- Observe and feedback on pupil progress to teaching staff
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in Key Stage 1
- Understanding of early childhood development and KS1 curriculum
- Patient, caring, and supportive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and committed to a full-time role
- Willingness to begin on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent
- Proactive and adaptable attitude
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
