Working Hours:

30 hours per week, 8:30am - 3:15pm, Monday - Friday (term time plus INSET)
Salary: £14.61 ph

We are excited to offer a position for a Teaching Assistant in partnership with a trust in Torquay. This role is set to start as soon as possible and will continue until the end of the academic year. It is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a strong background in supporting mixed-ability classes, including pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).

Day-to-day

of the role:

Support the educational and social development of pupils.
Assist in the preparation and delivery of activities tailored to mixed-ability classes.
Work closely with teachers to implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of all students.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Facilitate group and individual learning sessions, adapting to the needs of pupils with SEMH and SEND.
Participate in professional development and training sessions, including INSET days.

Required Skills &

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in environments involving SEMH and SEND.
Excellent understanding of the challenges and educational approaches for pupils with SEMH and SEND.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Patience, resilience, and a commitment to student welfare and development.
