Position: Primary - Sen Teaching Assistant Wanted

    30 hours per week, 8:30am - 3:15pm, Monday - Friday (term time plus INSET)
  • Salary: £14.61 ph

We are excited to offer a position for a Teaching Assistant in partnership with a trust in Torquay. This role is set to start as soon as possible and will continue until the end of the academic year. It is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a strong background in supporting mixed-ability classes, including pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) and SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities).

Day-to-day

of the role:
  • Support the educational and social development of pupils.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of activities tailored to mixed-ability classes.
  • Work closely with teachers to implement lesson plans that cater to the needs of all students.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Manage classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Facilitate group and individual learning sessions, adapting to the needs of pupils with SEMH and SEND.
  • Participate in professional development and training sessions, including INSET days.
Required Skills &

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly in environments involving SEMH and SEND.
  • Excellent understanding of the challenges and educational approaches for pupils with SEMH and SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Patience, resilience, and a commitment to student welfare and development.
