Patient Communications and Secretaries Team Leader – Chelston Hall, Torquay
Salary:
Up to £26,843
Hours:
30 hours per week
Help deliver great primary care by improving access, outcomes and patient experience as part of our friendly practice serving a local community of approximately 18,500 patients.
Responsibilities- Provide health care secretarial services to the Practice team in accordance with Practice protocols and guidelines.
- Handle telephone enquiries and messages, ensuring accurate and appropriate actions are taken.
- Answer the surgery bypass line, directing professional calls to the appropriate staff.
- Maintain effective liaison with other agencies and staff concerning patient care, respecting confidentiality.
- Update and maintain medical records with accuracy and confidentiality.
- Monitor and respond to emails sent to practice email accounts.
- Provide efficient copy typing and word processing services for clinical staff, prioritising urgent requests.
- Manage the Choose & Book referral system to make appointments, bookings and e-Referrals.
- Retrieve medical records and assist with completion of medical/insurance records using the iGPR system.
- File patient records and correspondence in patient medical records.
- Receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls, taking messages and dealing with queries.
- Maintain the computer clinic system accurately and securely.
- Respond to online consultations related to referrals, letters, report requests and other secretarial requests.
- Import and update document templates.
- Assist the QOF Lead with referral figures and follow-up.
- Disseminate information pertaining to team members within an appropriate time frame.
- Secretarial experience essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Proficient PC skills (Word, Excel, email).
- Ability to work within established processes, procedures, and maintain data security.
- Previous NHS experience welcome but not essential.
