Then look no further - we are looking for bright and ambitious Operational property and space manager to join our great team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust. We are looking for someone who has a strong track record of managing and delivering a customer focused property administration service at a similar level in a highly complex environment, preferably in healthcare.
We need a manager who will be proactive with managing the technicalities of acquisition and disposal of properties, managing leases and and handling legal complexities, and with the wider Workplace team will ensure a safe patient and staff environment, strong financial management and lease compliance are the key drivers within this service.
This is a key role within our operational team, and we are keen to recruit motivated individuals who will help us to provide the levels of service that we continually strive to provide to our patients and clinical colleagues. As a manager and leader the post holder will assist in the production and delivery of the organisation's estates operational plans and will ensure appropriate financial, workforce and performance management arrangements are in place.
Mainduties of the job
The Property and Space Manager is part of the Multi-Disciplinary Estates Team, reporting to the Associate Director - Estates Infrastructure & Compliance. The post holder will lead on all property related aspects on behalf of the trust, including managing leased property where the trust are tenants and when the trust is the landlord.
You will manage space across the estate to make sure the Trust is using the space to the maximum. The role will work closely with Workplace colleagues and client teams across the Trust contributing to the overall management of Estates Capital Projects, property, and energy/ environmental initiatives.

Person Specification Qualifications and training- Educated to degree level, preferably in Building Surveying or demonstration of equivalent experience in commercial property management
- Corporate membership of appropriate professional body, RICS or CIOB
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Relevant specialist knowledge acquired through Post Graduate courses
- Extensive understanding of leases, licences and other aspects associated with property management
- Considerable experience in managing properties
- Effective people, management and communication skills. Self-motivated and a strong influencer of others.
- Experience to master's level working in a senior management position in a complex organisation, able to demonstrate examples of positive impact/change within the organisation at an advanced level
- Knowledge of NHS estates management policy and technical guidance
- Detailed understanding and knowledge of estates and associated functions
- Strong project and budget management skills.
- Demonstrable organisational skills including prioritisation, delegation and time management.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including report writing/detailed correspondence
- Ability to complete building surveys, using surveying tools and equipment, including working at height and potentially in confined spaces
- Ability to take the strategic overview, whilst giving due attention to getting detail correct.
