Sister​/Charge Nurse - DART

Overview

We are currently seeking a part-time Band 6 Charge Nurse/Sister to join our team on Dart ward. Depending on your level of experience, training and support will be provided to help you succeed in this role. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable management experience and further develop your clinical and professional skills with the guidance of our experienced Band 6 team and Ward manager.

• Oversee shifts and provide support to the nursing staff.
• Work as part of the ward team as a Band 6 Sister / Charge Nurse, and collaborate with other multidisciplinary colleagues to ensure seamless delivery of service.
• Coordinate the ward to maintain patient flow and the patient journey.
• Assess the care needs of patients and their families. Support the team to develop, implement and evaluate care to a high standard, while demonstrating a compassionate nature and maintaining patient dignity.
• Participate as a skilled member of the multidisciplinary team.
• Act as a clinical advisor on nursing issues to ensure a high standard of care is maintained using evidence-based practice.
• Participate in direct care and facilitate sound discharge planning.

• Experienced, motivated and forward-thinking senior nurse.
• Experience as a Band 6 Charge Nurse/Sister or equivalent is preferred.

This post is based on a 16-bed ward within Totnes Community Hospital. The role provides an opportunity to contribute to an innovative, friendly team with opportunities to develop ideas and influence practice.
