We are seeking a talented veterinary surgeon to join our team. This role provides a clear path to leadership with potential for Clinical Director and ownership opportunities if desired. While experience is preferred, we prioritise a good fit for the team and encourage all applicants to apply.
About the practice and teamWe are a 100% small animal GP accredited practice, dedicated to building trusted relationships with clients and delivering high-quality care. You will join a team of 4 vets with diverse experience, 3 nurses, 1 student nurse, 2 veterinary care assistants, 3 client care advisors and 1 practice manager. Our senior clinician has a certificate in small animal medicine and is an RCVS recognised advanced practitioner in small animal surgery, providing a varied case load and mentoring opportunities.
The clinician also has teaching experience from an academic hospital.

Working pattern and dutiesOur days are structured with a focus on quality over quantity, typically averaging about 12 consults per vet per day with a balanced mix of medical and surgical cases. Non-clinical colleagues support admin and some consults to assist the team. The role is primarily clinical with opportunities to mentor and develop skills.
Role details typically include a full-time arrangement, with flexibility to discuss alternative patterns to support a good home-life balance. We operate two shifts: 08:30–16:30 and 11:00–19:30, with one late shift week and approximately 1 in 4 weekends, with time off in lieu for hours worked. Weekend hours are paid from 08:00–19:00, but Saturday presence is 08:30–14:00 unless there are emergency callouts.
