Head veterinary surgeon Devon

My client in Torquay is looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to step into a Head Vet role and become an important part of the practice’s continued development. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys combining hands‑on clinical work with supporting colleagues, sharing knowledge and helping a team to grow and succeed.

Set in the beautiful coastal town of Torquay, the practice offers a friendly and collaborative environment where patient care, clinical standards and teamwork are central to the way the team works. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to influence how the practice develops and contribute ideas, while continuing to enjoy a varied clinical caseload.

The position would suit an experienced vet who is already working in a leadership capacity, as well as someone ready to take their first step into a leadership role. They will provide support to help develop the successful candidate’s leadership skills, giving them the autonomy to shape the position around their strengths, interests and career aspirations.

As the clinical lead, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the wider team, helping colleagues develop and creating an environment where everyone can thrive. It is a role that combines clinical responsibility with the chance to lead, influence and inspire.

• private Health care
• Annual leave starts at five weeks plus Bank Holidays
• Professional development is actively encouraged, with a £1,500 CPD allowance and three days of paid CPD leave each year, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to continue developing clinically and professionally

For an experienced vet looking to combine clinical practice with leadership and make a genuine contribution to the future of a friendly coastal practice, this opportunity in Torquay offers plenty of scope to develop and make the role their own.
