• Conduct assessments, manage caseloads of 20–24 cases, ensuring the mix of complex Child in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and assessments are handled with expertise.
• Participate in the duty rota, covering one full week every three weeks, and be ready to tackle new challenges daily.
• Work collaboratively within the six-team structure, liaising across Torquay, Paignton, and Brixham to ensure unified points of action.
• Attend up to three office days weekly, maintaining your crucial presence during duty weeks and for any acute crisis situations.
• Travel as needed to visit children placed out of the county and engage with diverse families and partners.
• Engage in regular supervision, typically fortnightly, to maintain high standards of care and service delivery.

• Hold a minimum of three years post-qualifying experience in direct employment with an English local authority.
• Have left no permanent social work role within the past six months from children’s services departments or local authorities in the South West region.
• Be available to work from the office in Torbay each week to meet the needs of the service and clients alike.
