Trainee Duty Manager / Lifeguard at Parkwood Leisure – Full Time, 40 hours a week.

Job OverviewThe Trainee Duty Manager role offers a stepping stone into leisure management, with comprehensive training and exposure to day‑to‑day centre operations, including lifeguarding and staff management.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the highest standards of Health and Safety and customer care within the Centre.
- Develop and promote innovative leisure programmes to increase usage and profitability.
- Assume shift management responsibilities, maximising performance and maintaining customer care standards.
- Collaborate with Duty Managers, Operations Manager, and lifeguard team to deliver safe and engaging services.
- Maintain a clean, high‑quality facility and run recreational and leisure programmes.
- Lifeguard the busy attraction pool and carry out recreation assistant duties.
- Support staff training and development.
- Manage financial systems and implement contract objectives.
- Identify feasibility of new activities and maintain quality assurance systems.
- Act as main key holder, responsible for opening, closing, and emergency call‑outs.
- Undertake regulatory and other duties as required.
- Recognised qualification in Leisure Management, Sports Development or related field.
- Preferable experience in a leisure or related small/medium enterprise.
- First Aid at Work and National Pool Lifeguard qualifications (training provided if not held).
Pool Plant Operators qualification desirable or must be obtained within a set period. - Strong communication, customer relationship and leadership skills.
- Willingness to work additional hours when required.
- Commitment to employee relations and training delivery.
- Ability to gain acceptance and respect from clients and team.
- Strong relationship‑building with customers, clients and employees.
- Effective communication at all organisational levels.
- Adaptability and readiness to work extra hours as needed.
- Clear focus on meeting customer requirements.

- Willingness to learn and develop knowledge to become a Duty Manager.
