Staff Accountant

Job description

• Perform bookkeeping tasks for various clients including:
  Data entry, AR and AP processing (invoicing, payments, collections), expense reimbursement processing, check runs, journal entry preparation, etc.
• Monthly and year-end closing assistance:
  Prepare monthly close journal entries, bank reconciliations, account subledgers, etc.
• Prepare balance sheet, income statement, and other financial reports based on client‑requested formats. May also prepare reporting packages submitted to headquarters.
• Assist clients in preparing information requests from external auditors
• Prepare miscellaneous tax forms and process payments (i.e. sales and use tax, property tax, informational returns)
• Perform attestation services (i.e. financial statement review, compilations)
• Prepare individual and corporate tax returns

• Requires experience in Bookkeeping (including financial statement close process), Accounting and Attestation, or Tax (corporate or individual).
• Public accounting experience is a big plus (i.e. accounting firm, bookkeeping outsourcing firms).
• Accounting major also a strong plus.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification a strong plus.
• Strong communication skills and project management skills are expected (will handle multiple client engagements simultaneously)
• Language skills:
  Japanese proficiency is not a requirement, but beneficial for the role.
• Experience with Quick Books Online, Sage, and various ERP systems are a plus.
