Part Time Faculty - Film

The El Camino Community College District is now accepting applications for anticipated part-time faculty position(s) for the
2027 spring semester:

Faculty job responsibilities include the assessment of learning outcomes to improve teaching and learning in achieving El Camino College's mission of institutional effectiveness, quality educational programs, and vibrant student support services.

Faculty assignments may include morning, afternoon, evening, or weekend hours. Dual enrollment, distance education, on-line orhybrid with required distance education certification assignments are voluntary. For faculty who are interested in teaching online orhybrid courses, completion of El Camino College's distance education certification process is required or submission of awaiver with evidence of prior certification to develop and teachquality online courses.

Faculty may participate in initiatives set forth by the Collegethat support students to achieve their educational goals throughcollaborations with employers, advisory committees, industry/tradegroups, universities, high schools, or other partnerships with related instructional disciplines.

Master's degree in film, drama/theatre arts, or mass communicationOR

Bachelor's degree in any of the above AND Master's in media studies, English, or communication OR:

The equivalent - Candidates not possessing the required qualifications as stated above, must explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above OR

Valid California community college credential inappropriatesubject ( per California Education Code 87355 issued prior to July1, 1990 ); AND

Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic,socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.

• College level teaching experience in digital cinema production including preproduction, production and postproduction
• Willing to teach both online and in-person sections

Part-time faculty are compensated on a semester basis according tothe number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulativesemesters of instruction for the District. The beginning rate is,$116.73 - $146.27 (lecture), $88.47 - $110.84 (lab), (based on PTsalary schedule fall/spring) per hour depending on education and experience.

This is a part-time, temporary position for the spring 2027.Assignments may include off-site locations. Offer and acceptance of employment is subject to verification of all information provided on the employment application, credential(s), and transcripts.
