Overview

Responsibilities- Utilize Solid Works and other CAD software to create and revise 3D models and 2D drawings of details, assemblies, and installations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure models and drawings reflect project requirements and design intent.
- Interpret and incorporate redlines, sketches, and markups to produce or update models and drawings.
- Ensure all models and drawings are accurate, complete, and adhere to company standards and best practices.
- Work closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure engineering data is usable by manufacturing, suppliers, and quality functions.
- Incorporate revisions, track changes, and maintain version control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Understand and maintain configuration management through use of engineering procedures.
- Utilize a PDM to manage product data and documentation.
- Contribute to processes and tools to improve the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the work.
- Five or more years’ experience in computer aided modeling and drafting.
- Direct experience conducting engineering drafting for aerospace applications.
- Proficient in mechanical drawings, ASME Y14.5 GD&T.
- Good mechanical intuition - excellent at understanding how components interact in larger mechanical systems.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and mechanical assembly.
- Proficient in basic math.
- Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with others.
- Experience with Solid Works.
- Experience with Solid Works PDM or 3DX.
