Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring a California license and strong precepting skills for night shifts.
Responsibilities- Position is in the Labor & Delivery unit of an acute care hospital
- Night shifts, 3x12 hours, 19:00–07:00
- Must be flexible and available to work weekends
- Travelers may be required to float between Labor & Delivery and Mother Baby units, as well as between affiliated hospitals within the state
- Epic EMR is used and experience is required
- Caseload and weekend requirements may vary with contract length
- Travelers must agree to float among all system facilities as needed
- Must commit to working at least 3 out of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day)
- Scrub color is flexible and any color is permitted
- Free parking is provided
- Return staff must have at least a 3-month gap before returning as a traveler
- Requested time off must be declared prior to consideration and excessive requests may delay offers
- Orientation modules are required pre-start and annually, totaling approximately 16 hours
- Active CA RN license must be in hand at time of submission
- A minimum of 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Current ACLS, BCLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced certifications are required
- Precepting experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- First-time travelers will be considered
