Job Title: Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT)
Work Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Work Location: Skilled Nursing Facility (In-person)
Schedule: 10-12 hour shifts
Position SummaryThe Certified Hemodialysis Technician provides hemodialysis treatments to patients in contracted Skilled Nursing Facilities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. This role supports the company’s mission and values while ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) license
- Current CPR certification
- Minimum 2 years dialysis experience preferred (mandatory for home hemodialysis)
- Strong verbal communication and problem-solving skills
- Basic to intermediate computer proficiency
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record meeting insurance requirements
- Set up, monitor, and troubleshoot dialysis machines and water systems, following safety procedures
- Record patient vital signs and monitor patient status during treatment
- Review dialysis orders, obtain blood samples, and prepare specimens for shipment (if applicable)
- Participate in equipment disinfection and maintain required logs per policy
- Provide chronic hemodialysis therapy, recommending ultrafiltration plans to licensed nurses
- Administer treatments safely and document all activities in patient records
- Instruct patients in the care of vascular access
- Deliver compassionate, respectful patient care at all times
- Maintain a positive, professional attitude with patients, coworkers, management, and partner facility staff
- Demonstrate empathy and teamwork in all interactions
- Promote a collaborative and supportive work environment
- Work overtime with little or no notice
- Travel to different sites as needed
- Follow facility emergency plans and respond effectively in emergencies
- Attend staff meetings and educational programs
- Maintain consistent attendance
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Fluent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to understand clinical and medical terminology
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and professionalism
- Ability to lift 1–35 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to stand, sit, stoop, walk, reach, stretch, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods
- Vision and physical capability to perform essential duties
- Exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues (highest risk level)
- Required use of personal protective equipment: gloves, gowns, face shields, and goggles
