Position: QA TECHNICIAN I - C SHIFT

QA TECHNICIAN I

Summary – Quality Technician I plays a critical role in ensuring that our products, services and operations meet established customer standards. This position involves conducting thorough examinations, detailed inspections and various tests to assess compliance with internal and external regulations and standards. The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Inspection Tasks
  • Inspect semi‑finished components, including bolt blanks, washers, threaded fasteners and raw material for conformance to customer specifications and production drawings.
  • Inspect precision machined components and sub‑assemblies for conformance to predetermined mechanical standards, specifications and tolerances according to company quality procedures and industry standards.
  • Perform final inspection of close‑tolerance fasteners by the company’s internal procedures and customer requirements.
  • Maintain inspection reports and record inspection data on department‑approved forms.
  • Use precision measuring equipment and perform detailed dimensional inspections as required.
  • Coordinate inspection activities with leads and employees in the area where work is being performed.
  • Read and comprehend blueprints.
  • Responsibility for scanning paperwork, filing, data entry and product certification as needed.
Lab Technician Tasks
  • Perform and assist with the physical and metallurgical tests on in‑process and final production parts.
  • Perform preparation techniques of metallurgical mounts such as grinding, cutting, polishing and etching.
  • Assist in preparing in‑process tests on setup parts from various manufacturing operations.
  • Read and understand drawings and specifications for correct test requirements, procedures and sampling plans.
  • Verify calibration of all test equipment before use.
  • Report any safety violation, test equipment misuse or improperly performed work to Supervisor.
  • Verify that all jobs and materials have accurate information on the identification tags and that the correct documentation has been completed.
  • Assist in raw material verification when needed.
  • Move parts and materials to and from factories and departments as indicated on material documentation.
  • Deliver part samples to quality lab for inspection and evaluation when required.
  • Enter work order information in the Shop Floor System in preparation for shipping.
  • Review lab test results to ensure all operations have been performed and completed.
  • Assist the Shipping and Receiving department with stocking and re‑stocking, ensuring all product and materials have accurate weight and/or piece count.
  • Assist the Preliminary Material Review Team (PMRT).
  • Sort parts in the Quality Assurance Lab when needed.
  • Conduct lab sampling when needed.
  • Verification and inspection of raw material as required.
Gage Room (Metrology Dept) Tasks
  • Create, maintain and issue all gages used by production through the Gage Trak System (CAL
    01/CAL
    02).
  • Control daily temperature and humidity in the Gage Room (CAL
    03).
  • Set up Trulok (CAL
    04) using spreadsheet to find correct offset and insert.
  • Perform calibration of various gages (CAL
    05 – CAL
    18) in‑house and update tracking system and calibration stickers.
  • Control test bolt inventory in the gage room (CAL
    19) and issue test bolts as needed.
