We are actively seeking a Painter - Prepper in our Paint Department, reporting to the Manager of Paint Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and paint helicopters and helicopter parts in accordance with manufacturing procedures and FAA-acceptable data.
  • Understand surface coatings and paint compatibilities, required PPE, and painting equipment.
  • Measure and mix paint and primer components per manufacturer specifications.
  • Perform surface preparation practices such as composite filling, corrosion removal, sanding, masking, painting, and polishing.
  • Identify and correct paint imperfections (adhesion issues, blushing, sags, runs, drips, orange peel, solvent pops, pinholes, fisheyes, sanding scratches, wrinkling, dry spray).
  • Operate spraying equipment including spray booths, compressors, spray guns (HLVP), and mixing equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and geometric tolerances.
  • Perform basic mathematics for calculating material fabrication (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, algebra).
  • Maintain compliance with the Company’s DOT Anti-drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Qualifications
  • Experience or ability to work in a manufacturing/production environment with knowledge of coatings and painting processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision in surface preparation and finish work.
