Divergent Technologies is seeking an Integrated Assembly Technician to join our Production Department
. This position plays a vital role in assembling, fitting, and finalizing complex additively manufactured metal components used in our advanced aerospace, defense, and automotive structures. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience in precision assembly, mechanical fitting, and inspection, with a focus on achieving world‑class quality standards in a fast‑paced production environment.
The work schedule is Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm.
The Role Assembly and Fitment- Assemble structural and mechanical components following engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Align, fit, and secure parts using mechanical fasteners, adhesives, or joining techniques appropriate for additively manufactured metal assemblies.
- Perform dry fits and verification checks before final installation.
- Ensure precise alignment and optimal fit.
- Inspect sub‑assemblies and final assemblies for dimensional accuracy, cosmetic finish, and mechanical integrity.
- Perform leak‑down testing.
- Identify any defects or inconsistencies, escalating issues when necessary.
- Maintain detailed documentation of measurements, inspection data, and process steps.
- Safely operate hand tools, torque tools, pneumatic systems, and precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain and calibrate tools as required.
- Assist in fixture setup and basic troubleshooting of tools.
- Work closely with production, machining, and finishing teams to ensure smooth workflow and component compatibility.
- Communicate effectively with engineers and supervisors regarding technical issues or design feedback.
- Follow all safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and environmental guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area consistent with 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Ability to lawfully access information and technology that is subject to U.S. export controls.
- Demonstrated proficiency in mechanical assembly, precision fitting, or related manufacturing roles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and assembly instructions.
- Familiarity with torque specifications, fastener types, and mechanical alignment procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience assembling metallic and composite components in the automotive, aerospace, or additive manufacturing industries.
- Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with post‑processing environments (heat treatment, finishing, or coating operations).
- Basic computer literacy for CAD (Siemens NX), MES, documentation, and ERP system updates.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise and machinery.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling of precision tools and materials.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. independently and 50 lbs. with assistance.
- May involve crouching, climbing, confined spaces, or work at heights.
